I didn't think about:
food, money, clothing, my age, holiday plans, menus, shopping, gifts, parties...
My mom dressed me, she fed me, and she made sure I learned new words every day.
She decorated our home for the holidays and I was sure there was a Santa Claus because of her.
She made magic.
She read me books.
She made boxes and boxes of cookies and fudge.
She took such good care of us.
She made it look easy (when it wasn't).
She gave and gave and gave, often without a whisper of thanks.
Even though she didn't give birth to me, she gave me life, courage, and strength.
Even though I can't see her right now, I feel her spirit, her energy, her heart.
Even though I cannot imagine my life without her, I have to be brave if she doesn't make it in the coming days.
Keep good thoughts for me, my friends. Keep good thoughts for her, too.
|I love you Mom, rest in peace|
